Santa Fe, NM – May 22, 2012 – The Genoveva Chavez Community Center is proud to present the fifth annual City of Santa Fe Triathlon. This year’s race will take place on Saturday July 21. The event features a 5k (3.1-mile) run, 12-mile bike ride, and 400-meter swim in the Chavez Center pool. The event is open to both individuals and team entries.
New this year is a Kid’s Triathlon, which is co-sponsored by Rio Grande School. The Kid’s Race will take place on Sunday, July 22. This inclusive event is for children ages 5-12, and is broken into three age groups: 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12.
Registration for both of these events is open now. Registration forms are available at the Chavez Center, Salvador Perez Pool and the Fort Marcy Recreation Complex, as well as local bicycle and running shops. Racers may also register on-line at www.newmexicosportsonline.com . Drop-in registration is available at the Chavez Center. The Adult Triathlon is limited to the first 300 entrants, and the Kid’s Triathlon will be closed after 100 entries have been received.
