2. Should I put a solar energy system on my house?

Before investing in renewable energy upgrades, the City recommends strongly that homeowners implement energy efficiency measures first. Insulate the roof and walls, upgrade windows and doors and replace old appliances with Energy Star appliances. After making upgrades, you could choose to add a solar system. Solar thermal generates hot water that can be used for domestic use or home heating and photovoltaic panels generate electricity. Contact the Energy Specialist at 955-6693 for more information.

3. What rebates are available for energy efficiency?

4. Does the city have any plans to use wind power?

The local wind resources are not sufficient to justify investment in wind power.
