What are some of the benefits of using Compost?
Improves the soil structure, porosity, and density, creating a better plant root environment.
Improves infiltration and permeability of heavy soils, thus reducing erosion and runoff.
Improves water holding capacity, thus reducing water loss and leaching sandy soils.
Supplies a variety of macro and micronutrients.
May control or suppress certain soil-borne plant pathogens, supplies significant quantities of organic matter.
Improves the ability to hold nutrients for plant use.
Can bind and degrade specific pollutants.

Why compost biosolids?
According to the EPA, composting is a viable, beneficial option in biosolids management. It is a proven method for pathogen reduction and results in a product that is easy to handle, store, and use. State and Federal regulations exist to ensure that only safe and environmentally beneficial composts are marketed.
