The Creative Hub

Arts & Culture has partnered with the Office of Economic Development, supported by a state of New Mexico Creative Industries seed grant, to develop ongoing programming and infrastructure to strengthen and grow our creative industries. With a partnership with Creative Startups and Vital Spaces to lay the groundwork, we have held a series of events, formed a working group of artists, art educators, and culture professionals, and are now working on a resource-rich platform to increase access and opportunity and promote economic sustainability for artists and creatives. Please reach out to artsandculture@santafenm.gov to get involved or ask questions.

Digital Artist Professional Training

The Arts & Culture Department produced a series of free digital technology training workshops during the COVID-19 pandemic to help our creative community in Santa Fe become more agile in that world. Access to and competency with digital media continue to be essential for our creative community.

Graphic Recording

Graphic Recording is a way for professional organizations, meeting planners, conference organizers, and record keepers to record meetings and events visually.  This series of workshops will teach artists (who are already prone to thinking visually) how to better Tell Stories, Map Ideas, Solve Problems, and Share Ideas through their own illustrations.  This workshop series emphasizes the importance of visual content as a companion to auditory content to aid in the absorption of material by viewers, capturing key themes and ideas, synthesizing info, and capturing processes.  Attendees will be able to create a visual record by better understanding: What is visual thinking? How do you practice graphic recording (analog/digital)? How do you listen with the intention of recording ideas? How do you build a graphic recording business practice? How do you build a visual vocabulary to record the stories around you in captivating ways?
