UPDATE: Santa Fe Supporting Las Vegas Firefight

2 May, 2022

SANTA FE, May 2, 2022 — The City of Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Emergency Management team, and the Santa Fe Fire Department are supporting the efforts being made to protect life and property in and around Las Vegas.

“We know folks in Santa Fe are concerned for their friends and families who are hit hard by the fires,” says Mayor Alan Webber. “The City is assisting in every way possible in fighting the fires and safeguarding communities. We’re also making preparations to receive people who may need to relocate. We’ll continue to get information out as the situation develops.”

Santa Fe Fire Chief Brian Moya has deployed firefighting equipment and personnel to the area. He attended the morning briefing in Las Vegas today and he reports that our Wildland Crews are working hard with the rest of their partners in the state.

Santa Fe Emergency Management is coordinating with local and state partners, including the Red Cross, to ensure any residents who must evacuate areas around Las Vegas have what they need for shelter and supplies.

For current information about the fires go to:

Please exercise extreme caution and follow the ban on all outdoor fires and on fireworks of any kind.

DONATE TO FIRE VICTIMS

Donations are also encouraged to the All Together New Mexico Fund: alltogethernm.org. Grants from the fund will go toward emergency shelter, food and water distribution, and access to medical support. The fund was established by the Governor’s office in conjunction with the New Mexico Coalition of Community Foundations, which includes the Santa Fe Community Foundation.
