City Seeks District 2 Residents to Serve as City Councilor


The City of Santa Fe and Mayor Michael Garcia are seeking City Council District 2 residents who are interested in serving the citizens of Santa Fe as a City Councilor. All prospective applicants must be a registered voter in Council District 2.

Applicants must email, hand deliver or mail a letter of interest and a resume to Interim City Clerk Geralyn Cardenas at: gfcardenas@santafenm.gov or deliver a hard copy to Santa Fe City Clerk, 200 Lincoln Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

Perspective applicants have 10 days to submit their letters of interest. All statements of intention must be received by close of business on Monday, January 12.

The public will have a chance to hear from candidates in a public forum on January 17 starting at 2 PM in the Community Room at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center.

A finalist to replace former Councilor Garcia and new Mayor will be selected and confirmed by the Governing Body at the January 28 regular council meeting.
