Appointment Slots for Summer Youth Recreation Program Open at 8 a.m. on April 24

11 Apr, 2023

Spring is underway, but we’re getting ready for summer youth recreation programs!

The City of Santa Fe Recreation Division is offering affordable Summer Recreation Programs for youth ages 6-12 and teens ages 13-17. The programs will kick off June 5 and run through July 28, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The programs focus on healthy activities and socializing through court sports and games, outdoor recreation, indoor games, arts and crafts, swimming, and ice skating. Breakfast and lunch are included with the programs. Fees will be charged on a sliding scale based on income.

Sites for the youth program will be Kearny Elementary, Salazar Elementary, Gonzales Community School, Nina Otero Community School, and Ramirez Thomas Elementary. The teen summer program site will be the Genoveva Chavez Community Center.

Appointments to register go live on Monday, April 24, at 8:00 a.m. Space is limited, and registration will take place by appointment only, so it’s important to sign up for your spot in line.

Registration will take place in person by appointment only on Saturday, May 6, at Genoveva Chavez Community Center. Applicants must bring the following documents for each youth they are signing up for the program:

  • Completed printed registration packet (available for download on the appointment website)
  • 1 document with proof of child’s age: Birth certificate, immunization records, or passport
  • 2 documents with proof of income: Most recent tax return for household, most recent pay stubs for household, social security benefits, or disability benefits
