Dear Santa Fe business owner:


  • Are you starting a new business?
  • Changing or adding a location of an existing business?
  • Changing business ownership? or
  • Are you establishing a home-based business with customer/client visitation?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, please submit a request for a Certificate of Compliance (COC).  The COC verifies that the proposed business location meets applicable zoning, building, fire, and safety requirements, and is required before you can apply for your new business license.  The COC is an important first step to ensure the health, safety, and wellness of the community and your business. 

 

Certificate of Compliance Process


Step 1: Apply for a Certificate of Compliance 
Please contact the Inspections Division to begin the application process: 

They will provide the Certificate of Compliance application and instructions. 

 

Step 2: Schedule Required Inspections 
Once the application and all required documentation have been submitted, you will be assigned a Zoning Inspector. The Zoning Inspector will coordinate and request additional inspections as needed, which may include Fire, Building, Plumbing, and Electrical

 

Step 3: Apply for a Business License 
After your Certificate of Compliance has been approved, you may apply for your Business License through the City’s Citizens Self Service (CSS) portal at santafenm-energovpub.tylerhost.net/Apps/selfservice#/home

Renew a Business License

Special Event Licenses

For Special Event licenses, please contact Eva Romero in the Inspections Division to begin the application process:
