The City of Santa Fe Fire Department (SFFD) is seeking nomination letters for the dedication of the City’s Fire Station 7. This station currently does not have a dedicated name aside from its assigned number. This is an opportunity to honor an individual or group who has made a significant contribution to the community.
Per Resolution No. 2010-19, an appropriate City committee will review the nominations for the following criteria:
- The individual must be deceased, have made significant contributions to the community, and have been a person of high integrity and good moral character.
- The individual shall be a resident of Santa Fe County or have a strong connection to Northern New Mexico.
- The individual may have made charitable contributions of time or money either in the past or in the present.
Nomination letters should include the following items: 1) the name of the nominee, 2) the nominator’s name and contact information, 3) reasons for the proposed building name, and 4) if the proposed name is in honor of an individual, the letter shall include a one-page biography on the nominee.
Nominations can be submitted by email to SFFD Chief Brian Moya at bjmoya@santafenm.gov. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Once the committee has reviewed nominations, it will put forth its recommendation to the City’s Governing Body for review and approval.
