City of Santa Fe Announces New Airport Manager James Harris

SANTA FE, November 14 – The City has selected James Harris for the position of Airport Manager for the Santa Fe Regional Airport, a division of the Public Works Department. Harris has over twelve years of airport management experience and is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives. 

Harris most recently served as the Airport Manager for Clovis Regional Airport. During his time in Clovis, he brought the airport up-to-date on security processes and also executed a comprehensive rebranding of the airport. Before becoming the Clovis Airport Manager, Harris was Airport Operations Superintendent for Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

"James is extraordinarily qualified to ensure Santa Fe’s airport provides twenty-first century customer service, to guide the upgrade of the airport facility, and to guarantee that our airport meets the needs of both residents and visitors," said City Manager John Blair. "I’m thrilled to welcome James to Team Santa Fe."

Harris graduated from Everglade University in Boca Raton, Florida, with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation/Aerospace Operations Management. He also completed Private Pilot Ground School and is a former U.S. Marine Corps Aviation Operation Specialist.

"I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of the City of Santa Fe team and eager to get up and running to help enhance the passenger experience at the Santa Fe Regional Airport," said Harris.

Harris officially began in the new role this morning (Monday, November 14, 2022).
