Economic Development Advisory Committee Seeking New Members

12 Apr, 2023

SANTA FE, April 11, 2023 – The City of Santa Fe is currently seeking applications for vacant positions on its Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC). As an advisory group for the City, the Committee assists with policy recommendations and evaluates specific programs related to economic development.

The EDAC was established in 2018 to promote economic development and advise elected officials on relevant topics. The Committee provides input on the identification, implementation, and effectiveness of various economic development programs, including reviewing and commenting on proposed actions, ordinances, and regulations at an early stage. The Committee’s membership includes persons with expertise in a wide range of business interests in the city, including both small and large businesses.

Candidates are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. Members serve two-year terms with the opportunity to serve up to three consecutive terms but may be reappointed following a minimum one-year hiatus. Committee members dedicate their time to attending regular meetings held on the first Wednesday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Community members who have an interest and/or professional expertise in economic development, business growth, or entrepreneurship are invited to apply by emailing Casey Dalbor, Business Growth Manager, Office of Economic Development, cjdalbor@santafenm.gov. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023.
