The City of Santa Fe is seeking New Mexicans with an art background to serve on the Plaza Artist/Artisan Vendor Program Jury Panel and review applications for the upcoming 2023-2027 license term.
The vendor program is an important component of Santa Fe’s vibrant downtown culture, providing a marketplace for artists/artisans to showcase and sell exceptional artwork in the heart of the downtown area, the Santa Fe Plaza Park.
The Santa Fe Plaza Artist/Artisan Jury Panel is comprised of five members who have an art background and live anywhere in New Mexico. Jurors are responsible for reviewing application portfolios, interviewing, and scoring all qualified applicants for the program’s 2023-2027 license term. The panel will review 33 applicants whose work comes from many mediums including metalwork, 2-dimensional art, pottery, silversmith jewelry, paintings, and even handmade puppets.
Prospective jurors should send letters of interest by Friday, January 13, at 4 p.m. After jurors are selected, the panel review meetings will take place Monday, January 23, through Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, 201 W. Marcy St., Santa Fe.
Jurors will receive breakfast and lunch each day. Parking will be available in the Convention Center garage and the City will validate tickets at no cost to the jurors.
Those interested in participating as a juror can submit their letter of interest to City Manager John Blair and Administrative Manager Isabella Sharpe by mail, email, or in person.
