Office of Affordable Housing:  A Year of Accomplishments

4 Oct, 2023

The City of Santa Fe’s Office of Affordable Housing (OAH) oversaw the distribution of $6.5 million in funding during FY22-23, which provided support for home purchases, rentals, emergency shelter, and focused community services, for low-to-moderate income households in Santa Fe. This year’s funding sources included one-time dispersions from the American Rescue Plan Act and CARES Act, as well as the year-to-year funds from the Community Development Block Grant and Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

These investments in the community included:

  • $1,197,059 for affordable home ownership
  • $1,043,970 for emergency housing assistance
  • $3,108,883 for affordable rentals
  • $1,100,788 for public services
  • $84,484 for community development

The OAH also manages the Santa Fe Homes Program, which resulted in the construction and sale of 26 affordable homes to workforce Santa Feans in FY22-23 and another 228 under construction or approved for building permits.
