The City of Santa Fe's Office of Economic Development (OED) has been chosen as a recipient of the inaugural Creative Industries Grant Awards from the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD). The OED will use the $100,000 grant to create a community navigator hub to support and develop the creative industries ecosystem. The Office will work closely with the City’s Arts and Culture Department to deploy programming and funding to address challenges and gaps within the creative economy. 

Santa Fe is one of 18 projects in 15 communities and 3 pueblos across New Mexico to be chosen for the first round of funding awards from the newly-created Creative Industries Division of EDD. The grants will catalyze local communities and tribes to stimulate advancement or economic development through creative industries. A total of $1.8 million is being awarded. 

EDD has also selected Santa Fe-based Creative Startups as the contractor for the new Creative Industries Division Study. With experience in developing regional creative economy plans and a deep understanding of New Mexico’s creative industries, Creative Startups will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Creative Industries Division.
