Ongoing Projects


Agua Fria/South Meadows (The City of Santa Fe Public Works Department) The Public Works Department will begin the work on the Agua Fria/South Meadows Intersection improvements. The project will include adding turning bays on Agua Fria and South Meadows and signal improvements. The project is projected to be completed by February 2024. Ashbaugh Park Arroyo (Seeds of Wisdom, LLC) will be conducting urban forestry vegetation management in the arroyo that runs along the west side of Ashbaugh Park from the intersection with Cerrillos Rd. to the intersection of Acequia de los Pinos. To promote proper stormwater flow, saplings, vegetation, and litter will be removed in the arroyo that may impede flow. Seeds of Wisdom will select and remove some trees along the arroyo and prune trees with large broken branches. This work began in November 2023 and may continue into February 2024, depending on weather and other conditions. The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi (131 Cathedral Pl.) will be having a road closure for a crane for the installation of a Christmas wreath on the Cathedral on December 12, 2023, and to remove the wreath on January 9, 2024. Cerro Gordo Open Space (The Nature Conservancy) The second phase of an ongoing project, which includes earthwork and fencing, began in November 2022. All work will be performed on Nature Conservancy property, but access is via the City Parks Department’s – Cerro Gordo Open Space trailhead parking area. The second phase of the project has started and is ongoing. The preserve will remain open. The construction site is temporarily fenced. Please contact Scott Overlie at 505-231-6194 or saoverlie@santafenm.gov with questions.

Guadalupe St. (The City of Santa Fe Public Works Department) The work on the Guadalupe St. Reconstruction Project began September 11, 2023. The project is a complete reconstruction of Guadalupe from Alameda to Paseo De Peralta. The project will last for the next 18 months and will include closures, lane shifts, and flagger operations. The first phase will be the reconstruction of the Bridge deck at Guadalupe and Alameda. Guadalupe Bridge is now open.  There will also be lane shifts on Alameda during this time. Guadalupe Street will have single-lane closures in place starting Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in both directions for the removal of medians and temporary asphalt patching. Work is to begin on Guadalupe from West Alameda to West San Francisco Street. Work will include the removal of sidewalks and curb ramps; sidewalks will be closed during the construction process with detours in place for pedestrians. 445 St Michaels Dr (Jaynes Corporation) will be modifying the median, adding a deceleration lane, and adding an underground utility at 445 St Michaels Dr. for St. Vincent’s Hospital. The utility work will start at the neighboring entrance at 435 St. Michaels Dr, and the road will be closed with detours and lane shifts in place until work is completed. Work began in October. Calle Loma Norte (Subsurface Contracting) will be installing a new water main until the end of January.

207 Old Santa Fe Tr. (Titan Electric) will have a road closure to install new electrical services for approximately five days if weather conditions allow the work to proceed. No longer than ten days. Tekin & Associates will be implementing Temporary Traffic Control at the intersection of Beckner and Richards Ave. This is for public Safety. Right IN and Right-Out access only. Left turn movements will not be permitted from either Beckner Rd, or from Mission Bend Rd. (South). Motorists from the Mission Bend Sub-Division, including the school who wish to take a left turn and head south on Richards Ave. will need to use the Mission Bend (North) intersection. Right IN/Right OUT access to Mission Bend (South) will be permitted. The setup is scheduled to begin the week of December 18, 2023, and will be in place until the signal lights are in place. Tierra Contenta Trail (EMCO of Santa Fe) will be repairing a section of the Tierra Contenta Trail below the Vista del Sol Apartments off Jaguar Dr. The repairs include the installation of a storm drain, trail repaving, and seeding the disturbed area. The work began in November 2023. The work will involve closing a portion of the trail and detouring users to Jaguar Drive. Please contact Andrew Wright at 505-955-2133 with questions.

Santa Fe Train Depot Gas Line Upgrade (410 S Guadalupe St) Public Works will be closing the Garfield St extension that leads to the Vladem, Santa Fe Train Depot, and Tomasitas Restaurant in early January. Constituents can still access Tomasitas via Manhattan Ave and the Depot/Vladem via pedestrian walkways.
