Reading of ‘My Grandfather Lived in a Tree’ Highlights Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los Libro

The Santa Fe Public Library (SFPL) invites community members to celebrate Día!, Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day) with a full schedule of free music, activities, and crafts for kids of all ages from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the LaFarge Library Community Room.

Author Victor Nelson and Illustrator Eloisa White will read from their bilingual picture book, My Grandfather Lived in a Tree, at 11 a.m.

Other activities include:

  • Bilingual and Spanish book giveaways sponsored by Collected Works Bookstore, the Santa Fe International Literary Festival, and Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library
  • Craft Activities
  • The ‘Little Horse Whisperer’ with miniature horses and burros

All library programs are free and open to the public.      

Día! is a yearly event celebrating and promoting children’s literacy in every community from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This celebration highlights the importance of linking children and their families to diverse books, languages, and cultures. This year’s events are hosted by SFPL and Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library.
