Santa Fe youth are invited to a Summer Youth Programs and Lifeguard Hiring event on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Genoveva Chavez Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The City is looking to hire a variety of positions for Summer Youth Programs, as well as Lifeguard Trainees*, Lifeguards, and Swim Instructors. This hiring event is for all youth in the community to learn more about Summer Program and Lifeguard positions, with City staff available to help interested applicants apply for open positions.
Qualifications:
- Applicants for the Summer Youth Program Aide position must be 16 years of age or older
- Summer Youth Program Assistant Supervisors must have two summers of work experience in youth programming or six months of recreation, education, and/or working in a school or childcare setting.
- Summer Youth Program Supervisor applicants must have three summers or nine months of work experience in youth programming, recreation, education, childcare, and/or instructional and educational activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, and three months of lead experience in any related field.
- Applicants to the Lifeguard or Lifeguard Trainee positions must be 15 years old and older with a work permit.
- Lifeguards must have a current Lifeguard Certificate from the American Red Cross.
- *Lifeguard Trainees will receive assistance from the City to become certified Lifeguards!
- Swim Instructor applicants must possess a high school diploma, Lifeguard Certificate, First Aid/CPR and Water Safety Instructor Certificate from the American Red Cross.
