Reminder: City Offices Closed for Labor Day

Zozobra and the Labor Day holiday weekend are just around the corner! The Fort Marcy Recreation Complex and nearby dog park and pickleball courts are closed for Zozobra preparations in advance of the event and will remain closed until cleanup is complete. City offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 4, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. See below for detailed information about the closures, and let’s all have a safe and fun holiday weekend. 


Fort Marcy Area Closures for Zozobra 

Fort Marcy Park: Closed through Saturday, September 2, at noon. The closure includes the dog park and pickleball courts.

Fort Marcy Recreation Center: Closed through Monday, September 4. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, September 5, at 6 a.m.


Labor Day Closures

City offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023, in observance of Labor Day. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Closures include: 

  • Santa Fe Municipal Court  
  • All Recreation Centers – Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe Golf Course will be open.  
  • All Santa Fe Public Library branches – return book drops will be open  
  • All Senior Centers  
  • Santa Fe Trails, Santa Fe Ride, and Transit Administration office  

The Parking Division will observe Labor Day as a meter holiday. Patrons may park in metered zones at no charge. Meter holidays only apply to metered parking spaces. Surfaces, lots, and garages are still subject to fees. 

Holiday Trash Collection Schedule 

There will be no residential trash or recycling collection on Monday, September 4. Collection will occur one day later through the end of the week (see graphic). Place carts curbside no later than 7 a.m. for collection.  

Commercial collection will not change.
