Tourism On the Rebound
Tourism Santa Fe Director Randy Randall reports that while earlier this year we were receiving fewer than 25,000 visitors per week, nearly double that number visited over the last two weeks of May – which was close to pre-pandemic levels. New Mexico Secretary of Tourism Jen Schroer notes that Santa Fe and the state in general have an advantage because people want to travel to places that are known for taking virus-safety seriously. Let's keep it up!
Browsing for Books is Back!
The Library isn't "reopening" – the Santa Fe Public Library team offered an impressive amount of lending and programming throughout the pandemic, so it never actually closed. But all three branches are pleased to be resuming in-person services on July 7. Get the details here, and stay tuned for more announcements of onsite, in-person City services and activities.
Help Us Help You Recycle Right
The ESD drop-off locations are great options for recycling: glass, cardboard, plastic, paper, cans, and cartons are all accepted! Trash and items outside the containers (pictured) however, are not – this is illegal dumping, which can incur a fine, and it also takes our team extra time and resources to clean it up. So remember, "when in doubt, throw it out" – but do so in your trash cart, not at our drop-offs.
Southside Saturday!
From 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Southside Library there will be another fun-filled community event. Walk-up vaccinations for anyone 12-plus! Bicycle giveaways! And, from 11-12 – a rare opportunity for kids to visit with some very, very tiny horses! This event is brought to you by the City, the Department of Health, Christus St. Vincent, and the Chainbreaker Collective.
