Code Blue (Extreme Weather Response)

Santa Fe's "Code Blue" is an emergency response initiative activated during below 15 degrees and/or if there is >6” of snow. It is designed to save lives for individuals who are unsheltered during these acute weather events. It involves expanding overnight sheltering and daytime warming operations, distributing cold weather gear, and coordinating transportation to shelters.

Encampment Response Strategies

Encampment Response Strategies involve a coordinated approach to addressing unsheltered homelessness with compassion and efficiency. The Park Rangers respond to constituent reports, engaging with individuals in need. Life Link outreach services, along with broader outreach efforts, offer critical resources to those experiencing homelessness. Additionally, strong coordination between service providers and the City ensures a balanced approach that prioritizes safety, support, and long-term solutions.
