SANTA FE, August 11, 2023 – The City of Santa Fe and its partners in public safety from Santa Fe County, regional hospitals, and private airlines will conduct an emergency response exercise on Saturday, August 12. The exercise will consist of a simulated aircraft accident at the Santa Fe Regional Airport, giving first responders, healthcare providers, and public safety communicators an opportunity to optimize their performance in the event of an actual emergency. This exercise is performed every three years to evaluate and maintain emergency response procedures, as well as to maintain FAA certification of the Santa Fe Regional Airport. The exercise will take place in a secure area closed to the general public.
Members of the media are invited to cover the exercise and can find out more by contacting the City officials listed below.
