Christmas: City of Santa Fe offices and facilities will close beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 23, and remain closed in observance of the Christmas holiday through Monday, December 26. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, December 27.
New Year's: City of Santa Fe offices and facilities will be closed in observance of New Year’s Day on Monday, January 2, 2023. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Facilities with weekend hours will also be closed on Saturday, December 31, and Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Holiday Schedule for Trash & Recycling Pick Up
There will be no residential trash and recycling collection on Monday, December 26, or Monday, January 2, 2023. Collection will slide forward to the next day (see graphic below). Place carts curbside no later than 7 a.m. for collection.

Santa Fe Trails & Ride
Transportation services will be on a holiday schedule on Saturday, December 24, and Saturday, December 31. Free fare will be offered on December 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Transit is also offering a free shuttle for the Canyon Road Farolito Walk starting at 5:30 p.m. on December 24. There will be a continuous shuttle service between the South Capitol Rail Runner Station and the Santa Fe Visitor Center. The last shuttle for the night will leave the Visitor Center at 9:30 p.m. Call 505-955-2001 or visit the webpage for more info.
There will be no Transit services on Sunday, December 25, and on Sunday, January 1, 2023. On Monday, December 26, and Monday, January 2, 2023, all services will resume a regular weekday schedule.
Transit Administrative Offices will be closed on December 26, 2022 and January 2, 2023.
Recreation Centers
All Recreation Centers will be closed starting at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 23, through Monday, December 26. Regular hours resume Tuesday, December 27.
Recreation Centers will also be closed on Saturday, December 31, through Monday, January 2, 2023, reopening on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
The Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe Golf Course will be closed on Sunday, December 25, and reopen on Monday, December 26 (weather permitting).
The Links Bar & Grill will be closed for two weeks starting on Monday, December 19, reopening on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Santa Fe Public Libraries
All Santa Fe Public Library locations will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 23, through Monday, December 26, and will reopen on Tuesday, December 27.
All Library locations will also be closed on Saturday, December 31, through Monday, January 2, 2023, reopening on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Return book drops will be open throughout the holiday closures.
Parking – Meter Holidays
The Parking Division will observe December 25 and 26, 2022, and January 1 and 2, 2023, as meter holidays. Patrons may park in metered zones at no charge.
Meter holidays only apply to metered parking spaces. Surfaces lots and garages are still subject to fees.
Senior Centers
All Senior Centers will be closed on Monday, December 26, and Monday, January 2. There will be no meals or transportation on those days.
Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, December 27 through Friday, December 30, and again on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
- Grab-n-Go Meals will be available for pickup on Friday, December 23, and Friday, December 30.
- Frozen meals will be available for seniors during both holiday weekends.
