The Municipal Court Judge is seeking applications for vacancies on the City of Santa Fe Audit Committee.
The Audit Committee is an independent advisory body established pursuant to the City of Santa Fe Municipal Charter. The purpose of the committee is to conduct independent reviews of internal and external audits to advise the City Manager, the Finance Committee, and the Governing Body regarding such audits, assessments, and investigations and to recommend the adoption of policies and procedures that promote the transparency, accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness of city government for the citizens of Santa Fe.
Service on the Audit Committee is on a volunteer basis; terms last for two years and three years. Those who have interest and/or professional expertise in accounting and auditing (CPA preferred) are encouraged to submit an application. Serving on the Audit Committee will require time to attend regular meetings and to review Audit Committee agenda items, such as internal and external audits and other financial assessments.
The committee meets three times a year in January, May, and August. The committee meets in person in the Councilors’ Conference Room at City Hall, with an option to meet via Zoom for Committee members and presenters. Meetings start at 2 p.m.
There are currently two vacancies on the Committee for an attorney and a CPA. Attorney applicants must be licensed in the state of New Mexico, and CPA applicants should have extensive audit experience. Interested applicants should apply via the City’s PrimeGov Committee Portal. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Monday, September 25.
