ENN Meeting: Main Santa Fe Public Library Stabilization Project

9 Aug, 2023

SANTA FE, August 9, 2023 – Community members are invited to an Early Neighborhood Notification Meeting to hear a presentation and ask questions about proposed temporary stabilization work on the Main Santa Fe Public Library. The meeting will take place in the Main Library Large Community Room at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 14.

The City of Santa Fe’s Facilities Division, in collaboration with Davenport Construction Management, has developed a comprehensive plan to repair and stabilize the facility to ensure its continued service to the community. The proposed work is designed to be a temporary stabilization measure to ensure the facility’s functionality until a larger, comprehensive historic renovation project is initiated. The proposal includes:

  • Surface preparation, where loose plaster/stucco is removed and then patched with new stucco to create a stable and even surface, and
  • Exterior painting of the facility with elastomeric paint and of the building’s exterior woodwork and trim with vinyl paint. This will help seal the building, preventing further degradation of the shell and trim/woodwork while also dramatically improving its appearance.

The ENN Meeting will be hosted by Woven Architecture. For more information, contact Joshua Bohlman, City of Santa Fe Facilities Project Administrator, at jbohlman@santafenm.gov or 505-955-5932.
