It’s National Small Business Week!

4 May, 2023

SANTA FE, May 4, 2023 – On behalf of the City of Santa Fe, Mayor Alan Webber has proclaimed April 30 to May 6 as "National Small Business Week."

"Small businesses are the lifeblood of Santa Fe. They make Santa Fe special and they provide jobs to a lot of community residents," said Mayor Webber. "This summer, I’ll be making visits to our mom and pop businesses to showcase how important they are. And I’ll be listening for ways the City can be a better partner in helping our small businesses and new start-ups grow and thrive. Because in Santa Fe, celebrating and supporting our small businesses isn't limited to National Small Business Week—it's a year-round commitment."

"Small businesses are integral to the success and health of our community," said Johanna Nelson, Office of Economic Development Director. "Our team is focused on empowering entrepreneurs, increasing equitable access to resources and collaborating with community partners to create opportunities for economic growth."

In addition to celebrating National Small Business Week, the Office of Economic Development is expanding its support for local businesses with a range of new initiatives:

  • Monthly small business webinar series to increase awareness of resources
  • Monthly listening sessions with new businesses to learn from their experiences and feedback
  • Quarterly Coffee and Collab convenings aimed to bring together local economic development practitioners

These measures are designed to strengthen the small business community and foster further growth in the city.
