The Santa Fe Public Library (SFPL) will launch its Big Read program at the Santa Fe Indigenous Center’s Community Day event from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ragle Park on Saturday, September 17.

All community members are welcome to attend this special event to learn about Big Read activities centered on the 2022 Big Read novel, There There by Tommy Ortega, enjoy musical performances, participate in youth activities, watch traditional dances, and visit a variety of non-profit booths.

The Big Read in Santa Fe is presented in partnership with local sponsors and with support from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The NEA annually provides support to organizations around the country to host dynamic community-wide reading programs, each designed around a single NEA Big Read title. The City of Santa Fe is one of 62 communities nationwide participating in the 2022-2023 NEA Big Read and is the only community to receive the grant in the state of New Mexico.
