The City of Santa Fe is holding a lifeguard recruitment event from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center Natatorium.
Any interested applicants over 15 years old are invited to attend.* Certified lifeguards can apply on the spot and have a preliminary consultation with management. Interested attendees who are not certified can test their abilities, interview, and learn about lifeguard certification courses. The swim assessment consists of a 50-meter swim and deep-water dive, so be sure to bring a swimsuit!
Lifeguard certification courses are available through the City, and lifeguard trainees are paid for training. All new City of Santa Fe hires are eligible for a $1,000 sign-on incentive.
*To apply, you must be 15 years old and have a workers permit, or 16 years or older.
For more info, call 505-955-4041 or 505-955-2602.
City of Santa Fe policy requires that new hires filling a vacant position shall have “up-to-date” vaccination status for COVID-19, meaning obtaining the vaccines and boosters recommended by the CDC as a condition of employment, unless granted an accommodation under applicable state or federal law.
