July 30 - Public Utilities Rapid Hiring Event

Saturday, July 30, at GCCC from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Public Utilities Department is holding a Rapid Hiring Event on Saturday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Genoveva Chavez Community Center. Human Resources and Public Utilities staff will be on-site to screen applications and conduct on-the-spot interviews. Computers will be also available for use in submitting applications. 

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply online in advance by visiting santafenm.gov/jobs. After applying online, applicants can get prescreened and go directly to the line for interviews at the Rapid Hiring event if they qualify for the position. 

Applicants should bring the following to the event: resume, photo identifications, vaccination card with “up-to-date” vaccinations*, and proof of a High School Diploma, GED, or College Degree. (Proof of education documents can also be submitted after the event if a job offer is made). 

The City is offering a $1,000 hiring incentive for all new employees!

Open positions include:

Waste Water Operator, Field Operator, Equipment Specialist, Laborer, Engineer Technicians Sr., Water Operator, Pipefitter, Equipment Repairman, Utility Customer Service positions and Environmental Services positions, and more!

When applying for an Environmental Services Division (ESD) Operator position, applicants do not need a Commercial Driver License (CDL) to apply. ESD will train new operators and help them apply for the license.

*City policy requires new hires filling a vacant position maintain “up-to-date” vaccination status for COVID-19, meaning obtaining the vaccines and boosters recommended by CDC as a condition of employment, unless granted an accommodation under applicable state or federal law.
