The Santa Fe River Repairs and Bank Stabilization project has been paused to accommodate summer irrigation and Living River releases. The first Living River release occurred on May 2.

Construction activity within the Santa Fe River channel is limited to periods of little or no flow, so the project will remain paused until flows have ceased later this year.

The City encourages the public to observe the sites located between the Ricardo Pedestrian Bridge and the Don Jose outfall and watch the River's evolution through the summer. Rivers and riparian corridors are dynamic systems and the recent improvements have been engineered to complement natural channel processes and may change in appearance as the River weaves its way through the area once again. Please expect some temporary pooling of river flows as the River transports sediment and re-establishes the channel bed elevations in these sections.

Residents should maintain a safe distance from large boulders and other materials left in the staging area as items may shift over time and become unstable.
