The City of Santa Fe annually gets a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This money is used to address housing and community needs of lower-income residents.

The Annual Action Plan outlines the expenditure of CDBG funds and other housing funds for the 2024-2025 program year. The Plan is submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for its 45-day review and approval before the start of the fiscal year.

Projects proposed for funding in 2024-25 include emergency home repair (Habitat for Humanity); public services for homeless (Santa Fe Public Schools Adelante Program, Interfaith Community Shelter, Youth Shelters and Family Services); facility upgrades at the Transitional Living Program (Youth Shelters and Family Services); upgrades at a nonprofit facility (Chainbreaker Collective); and conversion of facility into a commercial kitchen space for youth job training program (Youthworks).

The Annual Action Plan will be available for public review from April 10, 2024, through May 10, 2024.

The Plan will be posted on the City’s website beginning on April 10.

Public input and feedback on the plan for using HUD funds in the community is important before submission to HUD.

After the review, the Governing Body will discuss the Annual Action Plan at a public hearing on May 8 at 7 pm.
