New Projects

Contractor: GM Emulsions  

Location: Cordova Rd. from Don Diego Ave to Galisteo St. 

Project Description: GM will be replacing curb ramps that are out of compliance with the current ADA code. Single lane closures will be in place with flagging operations. Expect delays. Construction of the curb ramps is expected to last three weeks.

Contractor: KIMO Constructors

Location: Santa Fe River between Calle Don Jose and the Ricardo Pedestrian Bridge

Project Description: To address warranty issues for one year post-construction of the Santa Fe River Repair project. The warranty work will include the repair of grouted structures, replacement of failed trees, and stabilization of minor erosion. The work will begin Monday, March 4, and is expected to last 3-4 days.

Ongoing Projects

Contractor: New Mexico School for the Deaf (NMSD)

Location: Acequia Trail from Felipe Place east to the trail underpass at St. Francis Dr.

Project Description: NMSD is installing new safety fencing at the north side of their property along the trail. They are using the trail as temporary access for materials and labor but will not be blocking or closing the trail during this work. The completion timeline is not known as of now but will be updated as soon as possible.

Contractor: The City of Santa Fe Public Works Department

Location: Agua Fria/South Meadows

Project Description: The Public Works Department will begin the work on the Agua Fria/South Meadows Intersection improvements. The project will include adding turning bays on Agua Fria and South Meadows and signal improvements. The project is projected to be completed by February 2024. South Meadows will be closed to Northbound traffic starting Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The detour route will be Agua Fria to Caja Del Oro Grant Rd. Traffic delays will occur, and you should seek alternate routes when possible.

Contractor: Seeds of Wisdom, LLC

Location: Ashbaugh Arroyo

Project Description: Urban forestry vegetation management in the arroyo that runs along the west side of Ashbaugh Park from the intersection with Cerrillos Rd. to Acequia de los Pinos. To promote proper stormwater flow, saplings, vegetation, and litter will be removed in the arroyo that may impede flow. Seeds of Wisdom will select and remove some trees along the arroyo and prune trees with large broken branches. This work began in November 2023 and may continue into February 2024, depending on weather and other conditions.

Contractor: Cerro Gordo Open Space

Location: The Nature Conservancy

Project Description: The second phase of an ongoing project, which includes earthwork and fencing, began in November 2022. All work will be performed on Nature Conservancy property, but access is via the City Parks Department’s – Cerro Gordo Open Space trailhead parking area. The second phase of the project has started and is ongoing. The preserve will remain open. The construction site is temporarily fenced.

Location: Calle Loma Norte

Project Description: Installing a new water main until the end of January.

 

Contractor: The City of Santa Fe Public Works Department

Location: Guadalupe St.

Project Description: The work on the Guadalupe St. Reconstruction Project began on September 11, 2023. The project is a complete reconstruction of Guadalupe from Alameda to Paseo De Peralta. The project will last for the next 18 months and will include closures, lane shifts, and flagger operations. The first phase will be the reconstruction of the Bridge deck at Guadalupe and Alameda. There will also be lane shifts on Alameda during this time. Work is to begin on Guadalupe from West Alameda to West San Francisco Street. Guadalupe Street Bridge will be closed starting Monday, January 29, 2024. Work will include the removal of sidewalks and Work will include the removal of sidewalks and curb ramps; sidewalks will be closed during the construction process with detours in place for pedestrians.

Location: 518 Montezuma, 2885 Industrial Road, and 617 Baca Street

Project Description: New and replacement water service. The work will begin on February 19.

Contractor: Jaynes Corporation

Location: 445 St Michaels Dr

Project Description: Modifying the median, adding a deceleration lane, and adding an underground utility at 445 St Michaels Dr. for St. Vincent’s Hospital. The utility work will start at the neighboring entrance at 435 St. Michaels Dr, and the road will be closed with detours and lane shifts in place until work is completed. Work began in October.

Contractor: Tekin & Associates

Location: Beckner Road and Richards Avenue

Project Description: Temporary Traffic Control at the intersection of Beckner and Richards Ave. This is for public Safety. Right IN and Right-Out access only. Left turn movements will not be permitted from either Beckner Rd, or from Mission Bend Rd. (South). Motorists from the Mission Bend Sub-Division, including the school, who wish to take a left turn and head south on Richards Ave. will need to use the Mission Bend (North) intersection. Right IN/Right OUT access to Mission Bend (South) will be permitted.

Contractor: EMCO of Santa Fe

Location: Tierra Contenta Trail

Project Description: Repairing a section of the Tierra Contenta Trail below the Vista del Sol Apartments off Jaguar Dr. The repairs include the installation of a storm drain, trail repaving, and seeding the disturbed area. The work began in November 2023. The work will involve closing a portion of the trail and detouring users to Jaguar Drive.

Contractor: The City of Santa Fe Public Works Department

Location: Santa Fe Train Depot Gas Line Upgrade, 410 Guadalupe St.

Project Description: Public Works will be closing the Garfield St extension that leads to the Vladem, Santa Fe Train Depot, and Tomasitas Restaurant in spring when the weather gets warmer. Constituents can still access Tomasitas via Manhattan Ave and the Depot/Vladem via pedestrian walkways.

Contractor: Francos Trees and Landscaping 

Location: Canada Rincon Arroyo along Alamo Dr. between Guadalupe St and Saint Francis Dr. 

Project Description: The contractor will be thinning the arroyo to remove invasive species and increase visibility. The contractor will also clean the area of any trash and debris left by encampment activity. The work should have little to no impact on traffic through the area and will last for approximately one week. Work is slated to start on Monday, February 5.
