Ongoing Projects

Contractor:  EMCO
Location: Acequia Trail from Felipe Place east to the trail underpass at St. Francis Dr.
Project Description: NMSD is installing new safety fencing on the north side of their property along the trail. They use the trail as temporary access for materials and labor but will not close it during this work. The completion timeline is not known as of now but will be updated as soon as possible.

Contractor: The City of Santa Fe Public Works Department
Location: Agua Fria/South Meadows
Project Description: The Public Works Department will begin work on the Agua Fria/South Meadows Intersection improvements. The project will include adding turning bays on Agua Fria and South Meadows and signal improvements. Traffic delays will occur, and you should seek alternate routes when possible. Eastbound Agua Fria will be closed starting April 12, 2024. The detour is from South Meadows to Rufina and Jemez Rd. Signage is in place.

Contractor: Coates Tree Service
Location: Asbaugh Park
Description: Coates will remove a very complex hazard tree on June 11-12. They will be working with Seeds of Wisdom. The work will take two days. Equipment will be onsite, and the arroyo entrance from Cerillos and the pathway behind the fire station to the upper parking lot will be cordoned off. There should be no effects on walkability within the park along any established pathways.

Contractor: EMCO
Location: Arroyo behind Herb Martinez Park
Description: EMCO will install gabion baskets in the arroyo for erosion control. Work will begin April 20 and is expected to take at least a month. The point of entry will be at the intersection of Santa Clara Drive and Alamosa Drive. Traffic control and signage will be in place with minimal impact on traffic.

Contractor: Franco’s Trees & Landscaping
Description: Tree cutting and dead tree removal in Arroyo Tenorio.
Location: The Arroyo Tenorio at the dead end of Camino de Las Animas. There will be no impact on traffic just a truck and trailer parked for tree branch removal.

Contractor: The Nature Conservancy
Location: Cerro Gordo Open Space
Project Description: The second phase of an ongoing project, which includes earthwork and fencing, began in November 2022. All work will be performed on Nature Conservancy property, but access is via the City Parks Department’s Cerro Gordo Open Space trailhead parking area. The preserve will remain open. The construction site is temporarily fenced.

Contractor: GM Emulsion
Location: Guadalupe St.
Project Description: The work on the Guadalupe St. Reconstruction Project began on September 11, 2023. The project is a complete reconstruction of Guadalupe from Alameda to Paseo De Peralta. The project will last for the next 18 months and will include closures, lane shifts, and flagger operations. The project is now in phase II, removing the sidewalk, curb, and gutter from West San Francisco St to Park Ave on the west side of Guadalupe Street. Work will include removing sidewalks and curb ramps; sidewalks will be closed during construction with pedestrian detours.

Contractor: Jaynes Corporation
Location: 445 St Michaels Dr
Project Description: Modifying the median, adding a deceleration lane, and adding an underground utility at 445 St Michaels Dr. for Christus St. Vincent’s Hospital. The utility work will start at the entrance at 435 St. Michaels Dr. The road will be closed with detours and lane shifts in place until work is completed. 
 

Contractor: Tekin & Associates
Location: Beckner Road and Richards Avenue
Project Description: Temporary Traffic Control at the Beckner and Richards Ave intersection. This is for public Safety. Right IN and Right-Out access only. Left turn movements will not be permitted from either Beckner Rd or Mission Bend Rd. (South). Motorists from the Mission Bend Sub-Division, including the school, who wish to take a left turn and head south on Richards Ave. will need to use the Mission Bend (North) intersection. Right IN/Right OUT access to Mission Bend (South) will be permitted.

Contractor: Seeds of Wisdom
Location: West Alameda in the SF River across the CO-OP.
Description: Tree trimming in and along the bank of the SF River. Expected to take 2-3 weeks.
