The City of Santa Fe has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure services that make homelessness rare, brief, and non-reoccurring. The City is requesting proposals from organizations and/or agencies able to provide services and programming to address homelessness in our community. Applicants should be able to address human necessities and assist in resource connections, providing pathways toward stable and permanent housing and innovative, supportive services to help individuals get the assistance they need to successfully transition away from homelessness. In addition, there should be a high level of outreach to build relationships and engagement within the Santa Fe homeless community to better understand long-term needs. Interested parties can apply through the City’s Vendor Self-Service in MUNIS. Applications are due by March 31st.

About the City’s Homelessness Response
The City is aware that homelessness is an urgent issue in the community and is looking for organizations to propose innovative solutions. The City of Santa Fe has a Homelessness Action Plan that describes City management’s strategy to address homelessness in the City on an immediate basis. The plan outlines actionable steps in areas that include coordination, service provision, physical investments, and policy advocacy. It emphasizes immediate relief, service expansion, system integration, and long-term sustainable policy development, with the goal of ensuring that homelessness in Santa Fe becomes rare, brief, and nonrecurring.
One solution the City is pursuing is Micro Communities. These are designated sites offering temporary shelter and essential services to unhoused individuals. Each site provides a safe environment with basic amenities, such as community centers, restrooms, private living spaces, and Case Management. Living structures manufactured by Pallet, LLC, are owned by the City and include climate control, LED lighting, and secure locking doors with safety features such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits. The City is currently looking to open 2-3 Micro Communities.
