Who can forget the magnificent holiday lights display on the Plaza every year?
"This is an amazing tradition that helps to make Santa Fe so enchanting during the holidays," says Kristine Bustos-Mihelcic, Director of Community Engagement/City Clerk. "Santa Feans of all ages love seeing the Plaza lit up. Huge thanks to our Parks crew for hanging thousands of twinkling lights so expertly."
The lights go on November 26, with festivities that begin at 3:30 p.m. Music will be performed by the Santo Nino Choir, Bells of St. Francis, Santa Fe Brass, Sol Fire, and Legacy of Santa Fe.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to arrive by vintage fire truck at 5 p.m. They will be practicing social distancing, but there will be a mailbox for letters to Santa.
Mayor Webber will flip the switch and light up the Plaza at about 6:15 pm.
Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided by Girl Scout Troop #10045, and there will be food trucks, too.
