Events Begin June 4; Program Will Run Through July 30, 2022

The Santa Fe Public Library (SFPL) is excited to present “Oceans of Possibilities”, the 2022 annual children’s Summer Reading Program. Come to the library this summer to find great books, explore programs full of possibilities, and win fun prizes to make your summer special! Registration for the program is now open at all three libraries: Main, La Farge, and Southside. Events and activities will begin on June 4, 2022.

“Oceans of Possibilities” is available for youth of all ages. Register your child for the program at your closest library’s children’s room to receive your first reading log, or use the Library’s online registration platform, Beanstack. A library card is not needed to register but signing up for one is encouraged.

To participate in the program and earn time for their reading logs, children may read their own books, read library books, or be read to by an adult. Return completed weekly reading logs to your library’s children’s room to become eligible for a prize and earn chances to win larger prizes. Prizes include passes to fun locations like the Santa Fe Botanical Gardens, City pools and Ice Arena, and Meow Wolf. Coupons will also be distributed for tasty treats like ice cream, pizza, and more.

Summer Reading will run through July 30, 2022, and everything is completely FREE. In addition to the weekly reading logs and prizes, thechildren_spot_6.png eight weeks of programming also includes craft workshops, music performances, science and STEM talks, and other hands-on activities. There will be a fun and free event to participate in every day of the program. Check the Library’s web calendar at santafelibrary.org for the full list of events and opportunities.

When the program concludes, all children who participated in Summer Reading will be invited to parties taking place at the Main Library or the Southside Library Branch (dates and times TBD). At the parties, kids can listen to a D.J. spin some fun tunes, enjoy icy paletas, participate in the final prize drawing, and receive a certificate to acknowledge their summer reading success.
