SANTA FE, March 14, 2023 – The Governing Body will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, March 15, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The Special Meeting is a continuation of the Governing Body meeting held on March 8, 2023. The original sponsors of the CHART Next-Steps Resolution have stated their intent to withdraw the resolution at the start of the meeting. The special meeting only has one item on the agenda, the CHART Next-Steps Resolution. The Governing Body's discussion on this Resolution was postponed during the last regular meeting, and there will be no public comment during the meeting. 

The four original sponsors (Councilor Romero-Wirth, Councilor Villarreal, Councilor Rivera, and Councilor Chavez) provided the statement below:

"We will withdraw the CHART resolution directing next steps for the Soldier's Monument/Obelisk at the Special Governing Body Meeting on Wednesday. We will propose, at a subsequent meeting, a redrafted resolution to create and provide direction for an Office of Equity and Inclusion. We believe that funding for an Office of Equity and Inclusion should be part of the Mayor's FY24 Budget."
