Upcoming Facility Closures for Zozobra and Labor Day; GCCC Annual Maintenance Closure

Fort Marcy Complex Closures for Zozobra

Fort Marcy will have closures to allow for preparations for the Burning of Zozobra event starting on Saturday, August 27, at 12:00 a.m., through Saturday, September 3, at 12:00 p.m. The tennis courts parking lot, tennis courts, dog park, and recreation center will be closed according to the following schedule:  

  • Tennis Courts Parking Lot: Closed Saturday, August 27, 12:00 a.m. to Saturday September 3, 12:00 p.m. (There will be limited angle parking spaces available for players on Old Taos Highway from Saturday, August 27, to Tuesday, August 30) 
  • Tennis Courts and Dog Park: Closed Tuesday, August 30, 9:00 p.m. to Saturday, September 3, 12:00 p.m.  
  • Fort Marcy Recreation Center: Closed Wednesday, August 31, 11:30 a.m.. to Tuesday, September 6, 6:00 a.m.

Genoveva Chavez Community Center Closure for Annual Maintenance Procedures

Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) will be temporarily closed for annual maintenance starting Saturday, August 27, through Monday, September 5. The facility will reopen for normal operating hours on Tuesday, September 6.  

For the duration of the GCCC closure, memberships for that location will be honored at the Fort Marcy Recreation Complex, Salvador Perez, and Bicentennial Pool.  

 

Labor Day Holiday Closures

All City of Santa Fe virtual administrative offices, in-person offices, and recreational facilities will be closed on Monday, September 5, in observance of Labor Day. Regular hours will resume at all locations on Tuesday, September 6. 

The following offices, facilities, and centers will be closed on Monday, September 5:  

  • All Senior Centers 
  • All Recreation Centers
  • Santa Fe Trails and Santa Fe Ride
  • All Santa Fe Public Library branches (return book drops will be open)

Labor Day Holiday Schedule for Residential Trash & Recycling Pick Up

There are no residential trash and recycling collections on city-observed holidays like Labor Day. Collections will slide forward to the next day (see graphic). Carts should be placed curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. for collection.
