Councilor Ron TrujilloCarol Romero-Wirth is serving in her second term on the City Council.   She has lived in Santa Fe since 1989, when she returned to New Mexico, and her family roots span generations in the Mora Valley of New Mexico.

Carol has degrees from Colorado College, the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas in Austin, and the University of New Mexico Law School.  She was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 1998.

Carol has worked as a public policy consultant on water, environment, and sustainability issues for over thirty years. She was a City Charter Review Commission member in 2013 and was the first associate director at Think New Mexico.  Early in her career, she worked for the New Mexico Legislature’s Legislative Council Service as a bill drafter and part of the professional staff.

Carol has been active in the Santa Fe community, serving on many non-profit boards, including the Santa Fe Community Foundation, Literacy Volunteers of Santa Fe, the Wood Gormley Elementary School PTC, and Breakthrough Santa Fe.

Carol and her husband, Peter, raised two children in Santa Fe and practice law together at The Wirth Law Firm, PC.
