Celebrate Bike Month with family, friends, and neighbors on Saturday, May 14, with Art by Bike from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and experience art events along on your city streets and trails! A temporary protected bike lane (PBL) will be set up on Agua Fria from Frenchy’s Field to Siler Rd., and on Siler Rd. from Rufina St. to the River Trail. Bike the loop to access art, music, and activity stations throughout the day (see map and detailed schedule below). Mayor Alan Webber will read the Mayor’s Proclamation declaring May as Santa Fe Bike Month at 1 p.m. in Frenchy’s Field. The reading will be followed by a community cruise along the PBL route. Art by Bike includes activities at many locations: Frenchy’s Field, in front of Tumbleroot Brewery, at the corner of Siler Rd. and Agua Fria St., and at the Siler Rd./River Trail bridge. All events are free and family-friendly! The Art by Bike event is sponsored by the Santa Fe Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the City of Santa Fe’s Arts and Culture Department and Office of Economic Development. The event is part of Santa Fe Bike Month, a 100+ year-old Santa Fe tradition that showcases the many benefits of bicycling and encourages more community members to give two wheels a try.
