City to Celebrate ‘Love Your Watershed Day’ May 4

The Santa Fe Watershed Association (SFWA) and the City of Santa Fe are holding a Love Your Watershed Day celebration May 4 from 10 am–1 pm at DeVargas Park.

The second annual free and family-friendly celebration will include:

  • Musical performance and instrument petting zoo with Queen Bee
  • Musical performance by Nelson Denman
  • Water Movement Workshop with Dancing Earth
  • Water-themed yoga with Liam Merkle
  • Tree Spree! scavenger hunt and macroinvertebrate table with SFWA‘s education team

Additional events and information will be available from participating community partners.

There will also be a bike valet with Bike Santa Fe. Riding a bicycle to the event is encouraged.

To make Love Your Watershed Day even more wonderful, join the community-wide cleanup between Friday, April 26 and Sunday, May 5.

Participating individuals or teams will receive one prize drawing entry per bag of trash collected during this week, as well as prizes for “weirdest” finds. (Many thanks to FS2 Supply Co., Santa Fe Climbing Center, and Trader Joe’s for providing the prizes.)

If you host a cleanup, make sure to fill out the Steward Report afterwards so we know how many bags of trash you’ve collected for the prize drawing, and to email photos of any “weird” trash you find to lorraine@santafewatershed.org. You can also text the photos to 505-470-3517.
