The mission of the Facilities Division is to plan, design, and build safe, efficient, and cost-effective public facilities that comply with all federal, state, and local codes. Once built, the mission is to provide safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities through a system of preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.

The Facilities Division implements the master planning, design, and construction of community facilities such as:

  • Libraries
  • Senior Centers
  • Recreational Facilities
  • Parks
  • Police Stations
  • Fire Stations
  • Other Buildings

These community facilities are built through the use of consultants, in-house designs, construction by contractors, and the LOCALS / Force Account Program.


LOCALS & Force Account Program

Some of the functions and benefits of LOCALS and Force Account Crew include:

  • Implementing Capital Improvement Projects primarily developed by in-house designs
  • Allowing significant cost savings over the use of contractors
  • Providing significant on-the-job training opportunities in the building trades
