Fraudulent Emails Claiming to Be From the City of Santa Fe
The City of Santa Fe is alerting the public to fraudulent emails currently circulating that falsely claim to be from the City.
These emails attempt to solicit payment for items such as:
- City-issued licenses
- Fees
- Utility billing
Please be aware that these messages are not legitimate.
How the City of Santa Fe Accepts Payments
The City of Santa Fe only receives payments through the following methods:
- ACH payments through an established vendor system
- Checks mailed to a verified City address
- Payments processed through an official City payment portal
The City does not request payment or banking changes via unsolicited email.
Steps to Take Before Making a Payment
Before submitting any payment or responding to a payment request, residents and businesses should:
- Call the City of Santa Fe Constituent Services at 505-955-6949 to verify the request
- Confirm the invoice through an existing vendor or payment system
