The City of Santa Fe invites community members to a free Juneteenth celebration at the Southside Santa Fe Public Library on Tuesday, June 20, from 1 to 3 p.m.!
Join us for a poetry reading and educational discussion on Juneteenth from award-winning author and former Santa Fe Poet Laureate Daryl Lorenzo Wellington, as well as a book giveaway, food, and the reading of a Juneteenth Proclamation by Mayor Alan Webber. The event will kick off with an introductory speech from a representative of the New Mexico Black Chamber of Commerce and is open to all ages.
The City’s Office of Economic Development and Arts and Culture Department are collaborating on this event with the Santa Fe Public Library (part of the City’s Community Services Division).
City offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, June 19, in observance of the federal Juneteenth holiday.
