Orange Barrel for the Week of September 17, 2023

15 Sep, 2023

Ongoing

W. Alameda (The City of Santa Fe Public Works Department): The replacement culvert is being designed and constructed to meet the future needs of the improved roadway to be built during the larger West Alameda Capital Improvement Project.

The replacement culvert and channel protection systems are being installed simultaneously. The current rough estimate for the reopening of the road is October 2023. The road closures at Calle Nopal and the Siler Roundabout will remain in place until the repairs are fully completed. Please allow extra travel time if navigating around the detours and seek alternate routes whenever possible.

Thank you to all our residents for their patience as we complete this project and make necessary improvements to support the safety of this culvert for years to come!

Cerrillos Rd at the School for the Deaf onto Potencia St and Baca St (Insituform) will install new liners inside of approximately 16,000 feet of sanitary sewer pipe. Insituform will utilize a trenchless technology process where the new liners will be pulled through the existing sewers line by pulling the line through the existing manhole openings, which means no excavation of roads is required. The sanitary sewer line rehabilitation work started inside the School for the Deaf property and will continue west through the PNM site. From the PNM site, the work will continue west to Potencia St. and Baca St. A by-pass pumping hose will run along the pedestrian and bicycle path. The hose will be present both day and night. Signs will be posted to alert the public of their presence. The project is anticipated to be complete by October 2023. Work will start every evening at 7:00 p.m. and continue through the night until 7:00 a.m. Traffic access through the work sites will be delayed, and you should seek alternate routes.
