Orange Barrel Report for the Week of October 2, 2022

New:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation along with Albuquerque Asphalt Inc: Will begin a pavement rehabilitation project on Monday, September 26, 2022, on N.M. 475 in Santa Fe. The project is expected to take 15 working days and will be conducted in 3 phases. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with any traffic control devices removed from the roadway at the end of each workday. Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures and delays. Phase one: Will consist of rehabilitating the loop at the end of N.M. 475 in front of Ski Santa Fe. There will be flagmen on hand to allow motorists to have access to Ski Santa Fe each day. This phase is expected to take 4 working days to complete. Phase 2: Will consist of rehabilitating the roadway from mile marker 8.8 down to mile marker 1.1. There will be a pilot car on hand to guide motorists through the roadwork zone. This phase is expected to take 8 working days to complete. Phase 3: Will consist of rehabilitating the length of roadway on Bishops Lodge Road between Artists Road and Paseo De Peralta. This phase of the project is expected to take 3 working days to complete. Traffic control plans for this phase have not been finalized and will be made available to the public as soon as they are. We would also like to alert both the residents in the area and the many bicyclists that use N.M. 475 to the increase in truck traffic that will occur while this project is ongoing. Sparling Construction: Will be lengthening the middle turn bay median on Airport Rd. at Geo Ln. Work is scheduled to begin 10/3/22 thru 10/17/22. Message boards and traffic control will be in place. Please seek alternate route. Please contact Teddy Padilla at 505-231-4794 for any questions


On Going:

Plateau Cable: Will be installing a new fiber optic line down the North side of St Michaels’s Dr. from just East of the St. Frances over pass to 725 St Michael’s Dr. (Big R) Traffic Control will be in place. Work is scheduled to begin 9-12-22 thru 10-7-22. Expect delays. Please contact Teddy Padilla at 505-231-4794 for information.

Sparling Construction: Will be installing utilities, widening the road, and building a new round about on Beckner Rd. between Walking Rain Rd. and Richards Ave. Beckner Rd. will be closed starting 9-6-22 thru 1-6-23. Sub Surface: Will be working on a main replacement for Baca Street between Potencia and Camino Sierra Vista. Work is scheduled to begin 08-29-2022 through 10-31-2022. Traffic control will be in effect across the active sections of this street during construction. Please contact Bill Huey at 505-235-2725, with any questions.

Hellas Construction: Will be working on the Tennis Court’s at Larragoite Park. Work is scheduled to begin 08-22-2022 through 11-08-2022. Construction will take place at the existing tennis court location and will utilize the parking lot on Avenida Cristobal Colon, for staging. Traffic is not expected to be affected. Hellas Construction: Tennis Court construction is underway at Herb Martinez Park through October 11, 2022. Construction to take place at the existing tennis court location and will utilize the parking lot on Las Casitas St. for staging. Traffic is not expected to be affected. A.A.C: Work in the driveway at 130 Lorenzo Rd. has been delayed by Supply Chain issues. Work will not begin again until this is resolved. Please contact Teddy Padilla at 505-231-4794, with any questions.

EMCO Construction: Will be adding a Round About at the intersection of North, South, East, and West Camino Entrada. New Traffic Signals, and Concrete Islands will also be installed at the intersection of Camino Entrada, and Cerrillos Rd. Work is scheduled to begin 02-21-2022 through 10/10/22. A.A.C. Construction: Work at the former University of Art and Design has been impacted by Supply Chain issues. Work will resume once this is resolved. Please contact Bill Huey at 505-235-2725, with any questions.
