Since the arrival of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway in 1880, Santa Fe’s Railyard has been a bustling hub of visitors and locals and those with something unique to offer both, from restaurants and artisans to cultural institutions and farmer’s markets, to performance venues, galleries, shops, and more.
Now nearing its Sesquicentennial, the Railyard remains one of Santa Fe’s most distinct and dynamic hot spots, where the fabric of our cultural history is interwoven with modern cultural amenities and attractions. It’s one of the most exciting places in the city for arts, culture, and entertainment organizations to set down roots.
The Office of Economic Development and the Arts and Culture Department are excited to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP #ED-AC-2405) from visionary arts-based organizations interested in leasing, revitalizing, and activating the building at 1614 Paseo de Peralta.
With more than 17,000 square feet of flexible space ranging from large stage rooms to office space to sound-proof recording studios, 1614 Paseo de Peralta offers visionary tenants a blank canvas for new and expanded arts, culture, and entertainment-related programming in one of Santa Fe’s most innovative and successful creative districts.
The City’s goal in issuing this Request for Proposals is to establish a collaborative, interdisciplinary community hub that supports and expands the local creative economy, to create diverse economic opportunities for Santa Feans, and to support Santa Fe’s creative industries by offering high-value, affordable space.
Through the RFP, the City hopes to identify a lessee—be it an organization, a coalition, or a property management entity—with the capacity, commitment and vision to revitalize the property and activate programming and services that support these goals.
In accordance with the Railyard’s Metropolitan Redevelopment Master Plan and Guidelines, the site must be used exclusively for arts, culture, education or entertainment programming and services.
