Councilor Elizabeth Barrett

Elizabeth Barrett is a social worker and educator with 20+ years of public service experience. Liz has worked in public schools, charter schools, domestic violence prevention, alternative sentencing advocacy ,and with veterans. Liz moved from the Detroit area in 2003 for an Americorps Vista placement at Enlace Communitario in Albuquerque and has been in NM ever since. She received her Master’s degree from NM Highland’s in 2005 in social work. Liz is married to Phil Lucero (a native Santa fean) and has two children (Xavi and Zoe). Liz is also a soccer coach in the community and runs a special olympics program where students with and without disabilities play sports together. She enjoys yoga, biking and kicking the ball around Ragle with her kiddos!
