Mayor Webber

Alan Webber is Santa Fe’s 43rd Mayor and the City’s first full-time executive. He was elected in March 2018 and again in January 2022.

As Mayor, he is focused on making Santa Fe the most user-friendly, eco-friendly, and family-friendly city in the country.

Alan has been married to Frances Diemoz for over forty years. They have two children, Adam and Amanda.

Before running for Mayor, Alan built a career in business and journalism, most notably as the Editorial Director of the Harvard Business Review and Co-Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Fast Company Magazine.

 
 
 
 

 

Most administrations, when they move into “lame duck” status, begin to slow down and cut back on getting things done. This is just a partial list of the last few months of work:

  1. Mayors for a Guaranteed Income program extended another year
  2. Safe and successful markets, fiestas, and Zozobra
  3. Fire Department fully staffed
  4. Police Department fully staffed
  5. Police Department reports moved online for ease of use and accessibility
  6. Affordable Housing Director hired
  7. New Payroll System installed
  8. ARF Truck delivered to Airport
  9. Land Use systems being digitized
  10. Las Estrellas land donation successfully made
  11. Tourism continues to win outstanding ratings for Santa Fe as destination
  12. Direct flights to Los Angeles implemented
  13. Guadalupe improvements completed and opened
  14. Midtown Infrastructure planning reaches 60% completion
  15. Two new ENAs approved to move forward at Midtown
  16. Santa Fe and Japan cooperate on UNESCO programming
  17. City Poet Lauriat awarded NEA grant
  18. New film production back lot opens at SFCC
  19. New Wastewater and Water rates implemented
  20. Fluoride legal problem solved with natural solution and monitoring
  21. Nichols Dam completed
  22. Go Bond money comes in and is ready for expenditure
  23. With Audits in order, outside fiscal agent no longer needed
  24. With Urban Alchemy at Agape House, calls for service decrease 72%
  25. AFSCME Contract negotiated and approved
  26. 3% Excise Tax appeal is successful, City initiates new affordable housing revenue stream
  27. Land Use Code update moves forward for adoption
  28. Living Wage proposal goes through committees and moves toward adoption
  29.  Improved preparation for emergencies, and better facility security at public buildings
  30. Budget reforms move toward implementation, including goals, objectives and KPIs
