Sponsorships

The Arts & Culture Department sponsors a diverse range of cultural activities, events, festivals, and programming that generate significant economic and/or quality of life impact for the community. Sponsored events range from small-scale events to larger gatherings that support and reflect the art and culture of our vast Santa Fe community.

Funding for this program is authorized by the City of Santa Fe Ordinance No. 1987-45, which earmarks Lodgers' Tax for the Arts for the "promotion and advertising of nonprofit attractions and nonprofit performing arts in Santa Fe." Therefore, eligible events must play a role in promoting tourism and apply the funding received primarily toward the project's promotional, advertising, and marketing costs.

Only Santa Fe-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or organizations operating with a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor are eligible.

Sponsorship funding is reimbursement-based. All awardees will be expected to show receipts and invoices demonstrating proper use of public funds for eligible expenses.

We review and fund sponsorship applications on a quarterly basis. Submit by the following dates for best consideration: 

June 30 (review begins July 1)
September 30 (review begins October 1)
December 31 (review begins January 2)
March 31 (review begins April 1) 

Note that we cannot sponsor events that have already taken place, so plan well in advance and apply early.
