Culture Connects: Santa Fe
Launched in 2016, Culture Connects: Santa Fe showcases a community-wide effort to understand and shape the cultural future of our city. Through a series of creative, hands-on input sessions, we explored notions of culture, shared our dreams for Santa Fe’s future, and created a roadmap to realize our vision. Leading this effort on behalf of the City was Dr. Estevan Rael-Gálvez, a nationally recognized leader in cultural strategies. We invite residents, cultural organizations, creative professionals, and community groups to continue to be involved in the process.
You may download the Culture Connects Santa Fe: Cultural Cartography documents below. These include a letter of introduction from the Community Working Group, a 13-page Executive Summary, and the full Cultural Cartography. To facilitate download, the Cartography has been divided into two documents; be sure to download BOTH files.

CHART: Culture, History, Art, Reconciliation, and Truth
The goal of the CHART project (August 2021 - August 2022) was to engage the diverse citizenry of the city and county of Santa Fe, New Mexico, to solicit their perspectives and opinions about issues that matter to them as well as to foster a mutual understanding of shared values.
Though sparked by controversies about monuments and statues, the project became much broader in scope and purpose. The City of Santa Fe Governing Body decided that better outcomes would be achieved through a grassroots process that invited and facilitated community member-to- community member dialogue.
Ultimately, citizens who participated in the many and various activities of the project contributed to a large body of information, feedback, and data that informed a report with forward-looking recommendations to the City of Santa Fe Governing Body.
Because truth, healing and reconciliation are, by necessity, part of a continual, years-long process, CHART strove to build on past and existing initiatives to nurture a strong foundation for continuing work.
